How much time a day do we really spend worrying about our security?  With all the violence going on around us every day, you would think we would spend most of our time worrying about our personal security and if not ourselves then by all means our families. However, as I go about my day as a security consultant, I see people running to the grocery store and leaving their doors unlocked or my favorite leaving their cars idling outside. But these same people are the ones that are shocked the most when they come out of the grocery store and their car is no longer idling safely where they left it.

That’s all property damage, let’s talk personal security. How do you secure yourself and your family against the monsters in the world today or is that even possible?  A little common sense, home security, and self defense items and it can be done.  The very first thing that must happen is you must install Dead Bolt locks on all your doors. There are several brands ranging in price, get one and get it on your door today.  The next thing to check is that every window in your house must have a lock and you must use it. This is a must do. I can’t say enough about security lighting. Thieves don’t like light when they are trying to break into a house. They will drive right by a house that is lit up on the outside.  Security Alarms, I know what you are thinking, big expensive systems. Yes, you could go that way or you could buy small alarm like the Mace Wireless Home Security System. It does the same job for less money and no monitoring fees.  You can also buy alarms that tell you when someone is trying to open your door or break out a window with the Super Door Stop and the Window Alert. There are several other alarms you could purchase by checking out www.basafetypro.com.

Now we are ready for personal security.  For some reason we go through life and don’t worry about personal security until something either happens to us or to someone we love. Don’t wait to be a statistic before you think of personal security.  If not for you, then for your children.  Make them stop and take heed that it could all fall apart very quickly. They need to be able to defend themselves to.  Today, teenagers have far more opportunities than my generation ever had and with that comes more responsibility. So when you sit your teenager down to preach responsibility please, please give them the advice that I give to you.  Self defense is your number one priority. Keep yourself safe at all cost.

There are a few products that I recommend.  The first is a Taser, it can be shot 15ft away from the threat and still be very effective. It delivers 50,000 volts shutting down the central nervous system bringing the person to the ground. Unfortunately, you have to be 18 to purchase this product or to use this product by law.

The next is a stun gun. They use high voltage and low amperage to temporarily disable an attacker for several minutes. The disadvantage to a stun gun verses a Taser is that you have to be close enough to your attacker to touch him with the stun gun.  You should check the law in your area for age restrictions.

By taking the time now you will ensure you and your loves ones safety in the future.  There are a lot of great self defense products out there today. Let www.basafetypro.com help keep your family safe. Remember security is something to think about every day.  Only you can ensure your safety.
